Almost two years after introducing the petrol version of its small car Tata Nano, India’s largest vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors Ltd is all set to launch a diesel version of this car in the Indian auto market. The Tata Nano Diesel car will have the world’s smallest diesel engine. According to the official, the engine will be completely developed in India.

The Tata Nano Diesel is expected to hit the Indian roads by 2012 but exact date of launch has not been declared yet.

India’s most prominent car maker Tata Motors Limited is all set to introduce its electrically driven compact car, the Tata Indica Vista Electric in India. The Tata Indica Vista Electric will be the second electric car in India after the Mahindra Reva G-Wiz. The concept model was presented at Delhi Auto Expo 2010 and 79th Geneva Motor Show.

The Tata Indica Vista Electric hatchback model is being developed at Tata Motor European Technical Center.

Tata Motors has launched a new city car concept at the 81st International Motor Show in Geneva known as the Tata Pixel. Tata Pixel is based on the Tata Nano platform. The car will be a new generation concept that is just over three meters in length and has capacity of accommodating our adult passengers. It will include a unique feature Zero Turn toroidal traction-drive, powered by an advanced Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT) which renders an exceptionally small turning circle radius of just 2.6 meters.

Tata Safari Merlin will maintain most of the features of Tata Safari and Tata Aria but some cosmetic changes will be made to the exterior.

Automobile major Tata Motors has unveiled new variant of its crossover vehicle Aria named the Tata Aria 4×2 for Chandigarh and Punjab markets. Tata Aria 4×2 SUV comes with several exciting features such as the four wheel drive option. The company also plans to assemble its small car Nano overseas.

Tata Aria 4×2 is priced between Rs 11.61 lakh and Rs 14.26 lakh. The new car has a 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine with variable turbine technology and 32-bit ECU which delivers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque.
