Mahindra and Mahindra is well-known for providing high end SUVs like Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Bolero to its consumers. Now the company is going to unveil new SUV called Mahindra Rexton II in the Indian market in first half of 2012. The Mahindra Rexton II SUV was spotted on the roads of Maharashtra, near Chakan area, Pune for testing.

Actually, the new Mahindra Rexton II is an old school type of SUV and it is based on tried and tested techniques of the first generation Mercedes-Benz M-class. The codename of this new SUV is Y300 and comes with 2.7 litre of 5 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine. The powerful and sturdy engine of Rexton II will be able to produce 162 bhp of power and 34.8 kg of torque.

The Mahindra Rexton II will come with five speed automatic speed transmission, an average ground clearance, a permanent all-wheel-drive system and superb traction control. The car will be assembled at Mahindra’s new plant at Chakan near Pune. The company will launch Mahindra Rexton II soon after it launches Korando SUV. This new SUV will give tough competition to SUVs like Honda CRV, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Maruti Mitsubishi etc.
