After launching the popular hatchback Maruti Swift, India’s largest and prominent car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is planning to unveil its popular sedan Maruti Swift Dzire at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. The new compact sedan will be launched in India by next year start.

Along with this new Maruti Swift Dzire, the company will also introduce face lifted Maruti A-Star, Maruti Ritz and new Maruti Alto 800 by 2013. The new model will come with same 1.2 litre K-Series Petrol engine which makes max power of 84 bhp and the 1.3 litre FIAT Multijet Diesel that develops 75 bhp of max power. Both Diesel and Petrol engine model would have attractive body design and highly sophisticated features.

The price of Maruti Swift Dzire compact sedan has not been declared yet by the company but it is expected around Rs 30,000 – 40,000 cheaper than the current Swift Dzire. The Maruti Suzuki India Ltd claims that the new car will also be fuel economical than the present sedan model.

Maruti India will invest Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 crore in the development of the new compact sedan which will include its research and development unit at Rohtak. The booking of this new car will be started by the end of this year.
