The Honda City has been one of the most favourite mid range sedan in the world since 1996. It has been the bestselling car of India. Now, Honda is planning to introduce a diesel version of Honda City in the Indian market. This is to be expected that the car will hit the Indian roads by mid 2012.
The Honda City Diesel will come with a 1.4L iCTDi (intelligent Common Rail Turbocharged Direct Injection) diesel engine that will be able to deliver a max power of 100 bhp. Indian version of the Honda City Diesel will come mated with both 5 speed manual and automatic transmission versions. The car will make its first debut in the South-East Asian market.
The Honda City Diesel will compete with the diesel versions of the likes of Ford Fiesta, Hyundai Verna Transform, Volkswagen Vento and Chevrolet Optra Magnum. The diesel version of City priced in the segment of Rs 10 lakh.
The Honda City Diesel can accommodate 5 adults and has advanced safety features including ABS with EBD, dual front SRS air-bags, unique energy-absorbing front fenders, active headrests, grille and windshield for better safety of the passengers in case of sudden collusion.
