A subsidiary of the largest European car maker Volkswagen, Skoda Auto is planning to unveil its new Fabia Scout to hit the Indian market. The car is likely to be rolled-out in August 2011 and a few of models are gearing up for the road tests. Currently, the Fabia Scout is available in many foreign markets across the world.
With the new Skoda Fabia Scout car, the company wants to extend its portfolio in the country. Currently, the Fabia is the cheapest Skoda portfolio car in the country and is also the largest selling version of Fabia hatchback in the world.
Actually the Skoda Fabia Scout car is a re-make of Skoda Fabia hatchback and has the same engine as that of the Skoda Fabia hatchback. The car is equipped with a 1.6 litre petrol as well as 1.6 litre diesel engine in these markets. However, the new Fabia Scout is likely to be introduced with a smaller 1.2 litre engine.
The Skoda Fabia Scout has a rugged masculine look especially with the bumper and the off-road design. Recently, the car was spotted for testing on the Indian roads. The spy pictures of the new car were posted over several auto blogs and news portals. The other models offered by Skoda India are Skoda Laura, Skoda Yeti and Skoda Superb.
