Audi India will reveal its special new A3 Sedan Concept to India at the competitive price of Rs 20 lakhs. Earlier, the concept model of Audi A3 had been showcased at the Auto Motorund Sport by Czech manufacturer. The model is ready to be showcased at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and will soon be in production. The new car is developed based on the Volkswagen’s MQB platform.

The next-generation 2012 Audi A3 will be available in four different variants – the conventional three-door hatch, two-door Cabriolet, a new four-door sedan and five-door Sportback. The car measures 4440 mm long, 1840 mm wide and just 1390 mm high.

The Audi A3 sedan is powered by 2.5 litre five-cylinder petrol engine which uses turbocharging and FSI to generate max power of 408 hp and max torque of 480 Nm (between 1600 and 5300 rpm). The engine sends power to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro system and seven-speed S tronic transmission.

Audi claims that the new A3 sedan can hit 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. There is also a rumor that the company has plans to introduce the A3 hatchback as well during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Automobile major Tata Motors has unveiled new variant of its crossover vehicle Aria named the Tata Aria 4×2 for Chandigarh and Punjab markets. Tata Aria 4×2 SUV comes with several exciting features such as the four wheel drive option. The company also plans to assemble its small car Nano overseas.

Tata Aria 4×2 is priced between Rs 11.61 lakh and Rs 14.26 lakh. The new car has a 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine with variable turbine technology and 32-bit ECU which delivers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque. It also provides a mileage of 13.7 kmpl.

Tata Aria 4×2 also includes safety features such as disc brakes on all four wheels, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Breakforce Distribution and dual airbags. The Country Head of Tata Motors utility vehicles, Mr. Rajesh Nayar said to media, “Aria offers a blend of sedan’s luxury and power of an SUV. The features, the company is offering through Aria is best-in-class, which will be appreciated by a huge customer group.”

According to the company, Tata Aria 4×2 will be launched in 3 trim levels, including the “Aria Prestige” at the top end, the “Aria Pure” and the “Aria Pleasure”.
