BMW 3 Series 300x210 BMW 3 Series The BMW 3 Series is a compact executive car, manufactured by the German auto maker BMW since May 1975. The company had unveiled its 3 Series sedan in India in March 2007. The vehicle is a luxurious sedan which is a combination of luxury and utility resulting in the ultimate driving experience.

BMW 3 Series is available in 4 variants, two being petrol engine while other two are diesel engines. The 320i 1995cc petrol engine offers a max power of 115 kw at 6400 with top torque of 200 Nm at 3600 rpm while 330i petrol engine delivers a power of 190 kw at 6600 rpm and top torque of 300 Nm at 2500-4000 rpm.

BMW is launched this new 2012 BMW 3 Series in the country at the end of July. The launch was in Mumbai and the sales of the new sedan are going to start immediately after its launch. The car is expected to introduce with both petrol and diesel options with 3 trim levels – Sport Line, Modern Line and Luxury Line.

The price of BMW 3 Series is ranges between Rs. 26 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh.

The Audi A5 is a coupe produced by the German auto manufacturer Audi since 2007. Audi A5 is available in three variants in International market – Audi A5 Cabriolet, Audi A5 Coupe and five-door Audi A5 Sportback. The upcoming car is expected to hit the Indian roads by the second quarter of 2012. This will be the full-size coupe which will be a four-seater vehicle and will come with styling and technological features.

The Audi A5 coupe will come equipped with a 3.2L V6 petrol engine with a FSI direct-injection which will be able to churn out a peak power of 265 bhp at 6500 rpm along with a top torque of 330 Nm at 3250 rpm. It is likely to be introduced in two transmission options including a 6 speed manual transmission and a Tiptronic automatic transmission.

The dimensions of upcoming Audi A5 are 4368 x 1872 x 1296 mm. The four doors A5 coupe is designed to give the feel of luxury to the occupant as well as the viewers. The car has a unique Audi parking system, ABS with EBD, 6 airbags along with a rear view camera with rear ultrasonic parking sensors for maximum safety. The upcoming Audi A5 can be purchased with the price tag of Rs 39 lakh.

Volkswagen Up

The German auto giant has decided to unveil its smallest car named Volkswagen Up, part of the Volkswagen Group New Small Family (NSF). Volkswagen Up was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 and will hit Indian shores by early 2012.

Volkswagen Up will compete with the leading competitors such as Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. The company is planning to introduce the new model in three body style – 2-door hatchback, a 4-door hatchback version and a 4-door wagon carrying longer wheelbase.

Volkswagen Up is likely to come in both diesel and petrol versions. A 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine will deliver maximum power of 75 bhp and peak torque 183 Nm with a 6-speed manual gearbox whereas the 0.8L, turbocharged diesel engine will pump out a top power of 51 bhp and max torque of `100 Nm with the same 6-speed manual gear box.

New Volkswagen Up will have two monitor screens – 8” monitor shows the speed, fuel level & range, as well as CO2 emissions of vehicle and 7” monitor controls climate radio volume, telephone, music selection, navigation, photos & movies. The car looks very attractive, well curved with its bonnet & boot.

The Volkswagen Up will be the cheapest Volkswagen in India with the starting price of Rs 3.5 lakh.

After a long waiting, the German Auto giant Audi is going to unveil its luxury Sedan Audi A6 soon for the Indian market. The launch was expected in September 2011 but now it may happen earlier. The company claims that this new Audi A6 has been improved both by performance and aesthetically over the older A6.

The new Audi A6 will come with a longer wheelbase by 69 mm for better handling and about 80 Kg lighter than its predecessor. Due to its lesser weight, it is more fuel efficient. The price of the new luxury Sedan Audi A6 is expected between Rs 37 lakhs to 47 lakhs.

The Audi A6 would be available in four engine options –
a)    A 2 litre Diesel engine – the engine will be a turbocharged CRDI engine with a peak power of 175 BHP
b)    A 3 litre Diesel TDI engine – It will be able to produce a peak power of 242 BHP

c)    A 2.8 litre Petrol FSI engine – It will generate a peak power of 201 BHP

d)    A 3 litre Petrol FSI engine – this engine will produce a max power of 296 BHP
