Nissan has given the Micra a substantial makeover. It is one in the series of what is known as midlife changes. This new face-lifted Nissan Micra will be unveiled in both European markets as well as Indian markets.

According to Nissan it is going deeper than an ordinary makeover. In addition to the new front and rear looks, the car has undergone   an interior overhaul. Some new tech and entertainment features have been added to it. In the inside you will find, superior quality fabrics as well as plastics added to increase the car’s visual appeal.

On the outside, there is a new grille, new bonnet, new headlights, fog light surrounds and new bumpers.  At the back, new LED lights, tailgate trim and bumper has been added. The updated version of the Micra will boast new designs of alloy wheel designs and more color choices. Some variants will have USB and Bluetooth. The more expensive models will come with parking sensors. Engine choices will remain more or less same with 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2 litre petrol engines. The Indian buyers will be given the option of selecting the gearbox X-Tronic CVT for the petrol model which has made its way into other Nissan cars as well.

Volkswagen Vento

New Volkswagen Vento is an extended version of the hatchback Volkswagen Polo, which is equipped with several advanced features. The vehicle is manufactured at Volkswagen’s new factory at Chakan in Pune.

Volkswagen Vento comes in both petrol and diesel versions. Both the engines are same as used in new VW polo i.e. 1.6 L petrol and diesel engines. The diesel engine produces a max torque of 250 Nm and the petrol engine generates 153 Nm of top torque while both diesel and petrol engines deliver peak power of 105 PS. The car is introduced in India with manual and automatic transmission.

The engine of Volkswagen Vento is claimed to provide a mileage of 11.2 kmpl in the city and 15.83 kmpl on the highway. The price of new sedan ranges between Rs 6.95 lakh to Rs 9.25 lakh across the country.

Volkswagen Vento is available in variety of colours including Candy White, Flash Red, Reflex Silver Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Shadow Blue Metallic and Terra Beige Metallic. The car will give direct competition to Honda City, Fiat Linea, Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta.

Skoda Auto India is a popular car maker in India today. Skoda Auto is amongst the largest car manufacturers in the entire Central Europe. Now the company has officially confirmed the launch of its much-awaited new Skoda Laura RS on 31st August 2011 in India. This car was showcased at the 2010 Auto Expo.

The Skoda Laura RS car is likely to come with some new and latest features. The car will be powered by 1798cc, 4 Cylinders in line TSI engine which would be able to deliver maximum power of 160 Bhp along with 250 Nm of Torque.

The Skoda Laura RS was initially planned to sport 2.0-litre TSI engine that can produce 200 Bhp of power but the company shifted its plan to a 1.8-litre petrol turbocharged engine. However, the car is available with both diesel and petrol engines but the Indians will only get the petrol version.
